The Together Stories

By Trish Dearn, illustrated by Lonica Lee

Children’s Cancer Centre Foundation

The Together Stories were funded by the Oaks Day Ladies Luncheon, an annual

fundraising event managed by Over The Fence Events.

About the Together Stories:

Transitioning through the various phases of childhood cancer treatment and coming off treatment are well recognized as stressful and difficult times for children and their families. The resources available to assist families – particularly resources for children – are limited.

The Together Stories, a series of eight story books, have been written to assist young children adapt to the physical and psychological changes associated with cancer treatment and life after cancer. These books have been written with the ordinary experiences of Australian children in mind, with the intention of helping those affected by illness to adjust to treatment and hospital life and reintegrate into preschool and school life. Children with cancer often do not have many choices but children in these books do.

All benefits from sales of ‘The Together Stories’ will be directed towards funding programs of the Children’s Cancer Centre Foundation, Australia.
